IDEX Foundation Receives $6 Million Infusion, Expands Mission

Company News
January 20, 2021

The IDEX Foundation, which was created to positively impact the communities in which IDEX people live and work, has announced an expanded mission accompanied by a contribution of $6 million from IDEX Corporation to support charitable efforts.

The funding infusion allows the Foundation to increase overall giving and add “Equity & Opportunity” – creating opportunities for under-served, disadvantaged people of color in our communities – as a lasting and fully-funded part of its mission.

“Foundation-funded volunteer projects continue to shape the fabric of our company culture, where great teams come together and contribute to the broader community. It’s part of who we are, and I couldn’t be prouder to help expand our ability to help,” IDEX CEO & President Eric Ashleman said.

The contribution means this important expansion of the mission won’t compete for funds with other charitable efforts. The Foundation’s annual charitable giving is expected to more than double.

While in-person efforts have been paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, foundation grants typically fund local projects led by volunteer teams from IDEX business units.

“I look forward to the days of once again regularly coming together as teams to build homes for the homeless, renovate community centers for kids and stuff backpacks with school supplies for local children,” Ashleman said.

IH&S Launches new MarvelXACT™ PEEKsil™ Connection System

Company News
December 21, 2020

With much of the market shifting from HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) to UHPLC (Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography) bio applications, IDEX Health & Science added a new MarvelXACT™ PEEKsil™ Connection System to their BioVersal™ line of products this month.

The new connection system solves a recurring problem with UHPLC instruments, which separate compounds for drug discovery and to test quality in food products and pharmaceuticals.

In the past, fittings would break if over-tightened or leak if not tightened enough.

To help resolve the reoccurring problem, the IH&S engineering, sales, procurement, planning and production teams collaborated to develop MarvelXact, allowing UHPLC technicians to finger-tighten the fitting. Like with an automobile gas cap, it clicks once it reaches the right tightness.

Using patented PEEK lined stainless steel and MarvelX™ connections technology, scientists and engineers are provided precise face sealing, eliminating additional internal volume, and minimizing carryover risk, peak tailing, and peak broadening.

“MarvelXACT PEEKsil can be used as a replacement for PEEK and SST tubing especially where chemical compatibility and low absorption is required” said Audrey Schrock, Sr. Product Manager, Valves and Column Hardware. “We are enabling more robust low-flow analysis data for applications that are highly sensitive and require chemical inertness.”
