In the spirit of servant leadership and community service, Banjo’s Extended Leadership Team (ELT) recently volunteered for “Spring Cleaning” at the local Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau (YSB) facility near the company’s headquarters in Crawfordsville, Indiana (USA).
A group of more than 30 members of the ELT, which is comprised of people from every department of the business, helped clean the entire facility including, washing windows and screens, raking and bagging leaves, picking up sticks and packing bags of food for school children.
“The Youth Service Bureau is a wonderful community resource for thousands of youth,” said Andrea Coons, Vice President of Human Resources at Banjo. “It was an honor for the Banjo ELT to help out – many hands make light work and it was nice to help the staff at YSB, so they could focus on the kids and not on washing windows!”
The Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau empowers young people to become responsible citizens through delinquency prevention, community education, youth advocacy, direct services and information, and referral.
Banjo Corporation, which manufactures valves and pumps for precision agricultural and industrial applications, has worked with the YSB of Montgomery County since 2017. Most recently, the team helped sponsor the “REINdear” program to donate gifts for the holidays and hosted a holiday party for a teen girls’ mentoring group called “Inspire,” which is also a program of YSB.
