Hale – A brand of IDEX Fire & Safety – successfully upgraded to Closed-Loop Hydro Systems projected to save more than 300,000 gallons of water annually.
The upgrade supports HYDRO operations across Modules, Pumps, Portables, and SAM. It has been fully designed, installed, validated, and successfully placed into active operation. This initiative represents a significant operational and sustainability milestone, eliminating once through water consumption. Hale uses water to pressurize their pumps and integrated systems. The process requires filling the pump body with fluid to remove air and check for leaks.
The project delivers substantial improvements in environmental performance, cost efficiency, and reliability for under $1,000, far below the original estimate and under the previously budgeted amount. Despite this minimal investment, the system is projected to save more than 300,000 gallons of water annually, generating a strong and recurring return.
This effort also reflects HALE’s ongoing commitment to the IDEX Green Certification.
Benefits Driven by Our Closed Loop Hydro Systems:
These results represent a dramatic reduction in cycle time and a major enhancement in testing efficiency across both Pumps, Pump Module and SAM operations.
The Closed Loop Hydro Systems upgrade represents far more than an operational improvement—it directly contributes to the protection and preservation of one of our most critical natural resources: water.
Freshwater supplies are increasingly strained across the U.S., and Florida – where Hale operates – face heightened pressure due to population growth, groundwater depletion, and climate riven variability in rainfall. By recycling more than 300,000 gallons of water every year, HALE’s closed loop system meaningfully reduces demand on municipal and groundwater sources while cutting wastewater discharge.
