A group of seven Godiva employees dedicated their evening to volunteering at the local Helping Hands soup kitchen in Leamington Spa, U.K. — the same organization that benefited from Godiva’s donation during this year’s annual Food Insecurity Challenge.
Tasked with making a meat dish and a vegetarian dish from an unexpected selection of ingredients, the team, which included Kirsten Wright, Claire Cunningham, Jo Holmes, Georgia Haywood, Sylwia Korusiewicz, Alex Norocea, and Megan Easley, prepared a meal for 50 guests in October.
It was a challenge that brought out hidden talents—especially for Alex, who earned the unofficial title of “Best Onion Chopper.” Beyond the cooking, the evening offered a chance to connect with members of the community and reflect on the impact of our support. Additionally, it was a meaningful experience that brought colleagues together in a new setting, fostering teamwork and compassion in equal measure.
The participating team demonstrating purposeful action aligned with our values of trust, team and excellence. Volunteering at the soup kitchen wasn’t just a one-off gesture—it was a deliberate effort to build a meaningful relationship with Helping Hands and make a real impact in their community beyond monetary donations.
