Sean Gillen brings extensive experience driving financial performance, portfolio discipline, operational efficiency, and strategic growth at large diverse global industrial and manufacturing businesses to his role as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Appointed to the role in January 2026, Sean leads the company’s global finance and IT organizations, including operational finance, accounting, treasury, tax, investor relations, and financial planning and analysis.
Prior to joining IDEX, he served for nearly seven years as Chief Financial Officer of AAR Corp., a provider of aviation services to the aerospace and defense industries. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing and executing the company’s strategy with a focus on portfolio management, disciplined capital deployment and M&A.
Prior to AAR, Sean was Vice President and Treasurer of building materials manufacturer USG Corporation. Before that, he was a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Global Industrial Investment Banking Division. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
A native of the Chicago area, Sean is married with five children. He stays active outside of work coaching youth sports for their kids. When time allows, he tries to squeeze in a round of golf.
